How it works

A Cole session is short, calm, and focused on the one thing you opened your laptop to do.

  1. 1

    Tell Cole what's stuck

Type a sentence. "My printer says it's offline." "I can't get this PDF to download." "Outlook keeps asking me to sign in over and over." Cole reads it the way a human friend would - context comes later, not first.

  2. 2

    Share your screen

Cole asks for screen access through your browser's standard sharing prompt. You pick a tab, a window, or your whole screen. No software install, no kernel extension, no admin password.

  3. 3

Cole watches and asks one question at a time

Instead of dumping a checklist, Cole looks at what's on your screen and asks the one thing it actually needs. "Can you click the dropdown next to your printer's name?" Most sessions are over after two or three of these.

  4. 4

    Cole draws on the screen

When the next step is a button you can't find, Cole circles it. When it's a setting buried four menus deep, Cole walks you there with arrows. You stay in control of the cursor - Cole never takes over your machine.

  5. 5

    You leave with a transcript

After the session ends, you get a short written summary: what was wrong, what fixed it, and a couple of links if you want to read more. So next time something similar happens, you have notes.

Common questions

What can Cole help with?
Everyday computer trouble: printers, browsers, video calls, email setup, file uploads, weird popups, things that used to work and don't anymore. Cole's not a replacement for IT when something is genuinely broken in your hardware - but for the 80% that's fixable in five minutes, it's the fastest way.
Does Cole take over my computer?
No. You always drive the cursor. Cole points at things, draws on your screen, and tells you what to click - but it never moves your mouse or types for you.
What about my privacy?
Cole only sees your screen during the session, and only the part you choose to share. We do not store video. We do store the transcript of what Cole said and what you typed, so you (and you only) can come back to it.
What if I get stuck and need a real person?
If the problem is out of Cole's scope, Cole will say so - early - and point you at the right place to go. We'd rather lose a session than waste your time.
